2. Scope
This Policy applies to:
- Visitors to our marketing, pricing, status, privacy, and terms pages
- Users who create an account and use monitoring, billing, settings, and related features
- Administrators and operators of the Service
- Data we receive from payment providers (including PayPal) in connection with checkout, subscriptions, and account verification
It does not govern third-party websites or services you link to from your monitors, or PayPal’s own privacy practices when you interact with PayPal directly. Please review PayPal’s Privacy Statement.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Account and profile information
When you register or manage your account, we may collect:
- Name or display name
- Email address
- Password (stored in hashed form; we never store plaintext passwords)
- Account preferences, notification settings, and role within the platform
- Account status (active, deactivated, payment-required, deleted, etc.)
3.2 PayPal and billing information
Payments and subscriptions are processed by PayPal. Depending on the checkout and OpenID Connect (OAuth2) scopes we request, PayPal may share with us (and we may store or process) the following customer attributes:
Personal information
- Full name
- Email address
Address
- Street address
- City
- State / province
- Country
- Postal / ZIP code
Account information
- PayPal account verification status
- PayPal account ID (payer ID)
We may also receive and store billing-related data such as:
- Subscription IDs, plan IDs, order IDs, and invoice / transaction references from PayPal
- Subscription status (trialing, active, cancelled, payment failed, etc.)
- Trial usage and eligibility flags
- Amounts, currency, tax where applicable, refunds, and payment failure reason codes provided by PayPal
- Billing history and invoice records shown in your account
We do not receive or store your full PayPal login password or full card numbers on our servers. Card and funding-source details are handled by PayPal.
3.3 Monitoring and service-usage data
To operate uptime monitoring, we process:
- Monitor configurations (URLs/hosts, check type, intervals, regions, thresholds, alert rules)
- Check results, response timing, status codes, and related telemetry
- Incident records, acknowledgements, and resolution notes you provide
- Notification delivery metadata (e.g. that an email alert was queued or sent)
- Feature usage within the dashboard (monitors created, plan limits, etc.)
If you point monitors at third-party systems, we process only what is needed to perform the checks you configured. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to monitor those targets.
3.4 Technical, security, and anti-abuse data
- IP addresses and approximate location derived from IP where available
- Browser / device information (user agent) and request metadata
- Authentication cookies and session tokens
- Server logs for security, debugging, and reliability
- Identity signals used to enforce one-time trials and prevent abuse (for example hashed or fingerprint representations of email, PayPal payer ID, PayPal-linked email, and IP), which may be retained even after account deletion
- Archived snapshots of account-related records when an account is deleted, retained for abuse prevention, dispute handling, legal compliance, and operational integrity
3.5 Communications
- Support or contact emails you send us
- Transactional emails we send (verification, password reset, billing, incident alerts)
- In-app notifications
3.6 Information we do not intentionally collect
We do not intentionally collect special-category data (such as health, biometric, or political opinions) through the Service. Please do not submit such data in free-text fields.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service
- Create and authenticate accounts; maintain sessions
- Run uptime checks and deliver alerts you configure
- Process subscriptions, trials, upgrades, invoices, refunds, and payment-failure handling via PayPal
- Enforce plan limits, trial eligibility, and anti-abuse rules
- Communicate about account, billing, security, and product changes
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests
- Investigate fraud, chargebacks, misuse, and security incidents
- Preserve historic records needed for audits, disputes, and platform integrity after account deletion
5. Legal bases (where applicable)
If you are in a jurisdiction that requires a legal basis for processing (for example under GDPR-style laws), we typically rely on:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you request
- Legitimate interests — security, anti-abuse, product improvement, and service reliability (balanced against your rights)
- Consent — where we expressly ask for it (and you may withdraw it where applicable)
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information to comply with law
8. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, including:
- Active account data while your account remains open
- Billing and invoice records for accounting, tax, chargeback, and dispute periods
- Security and server logs for a limited operational window
- Identity fingerprints and account archives after deletion, for anti-abuse (including one-time trial enforcement), fraud prevention, and legal compliance
When you delete your account, we remove live account access and associated operational data subject to the archives and identity signals described above. Some records may remain in backups for a limited period until those backups rotate.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls, and least-privilege practices for operators. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International transfers
The Service is operated from Mauritius and may use infrastructure or processors in other countries. Your information may therefore be processed outside your country of residence, including in places that may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we take steps appropriate to the circumstances to protect transferred data.
11. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account (via Settings → Delete account, or by contacting us)
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Receive a copy of certain data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
To exercise these rights, email mrvampcruz@proton.me. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Some requests may be limited where we must retain data for legal, security, or anti-abuse reasons (for example trial-abuse fingerprints).
You can also update profile and notification settings in the dashboard, manage payment methods in PayPal, and cancel subscriptions according to the Terms of Service.
12. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
13. Third-party links and monitors
The Service may link to third-party sites, and you may configure monitors against third-party endpoints. Those parties have their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for their content or policies.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may also be communicated by email or an in-product notice. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
